An isolated island paradise, Seychelles is home to idyllic beaches, pleasant warm weather, and the crystal clear waters of the sea. The island is also a haven for the eco-enthusiasts with more than 81 unique species of plants to its credit, including the coco-de-mer (sea coconut), which grows in the Vallée de Mai. There are many things to see and do in Seychelles apart from soaking up the sun. Aldabra: The world`s largest atoll, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Aldabra is home to the giant land tortoises amounting to around 150,000 in total. The atoll is made up of 13 islands which together account for one-third of the Seychelles` land mass. Beaches: Mahé is home to numerous white sandy beaches - there are more than 70 beaches here and so you are sure to find something to your taste. Aside from soaking up the sun, you can take in the beautiful views of plantations of coconut palms and cinnamon, lush vegetation and the neighbouring islands. Bird watching: As already mentioned above, the island is a haven for the bird watchers. The best time to visit is from April to May when Seychellen attracts more than 1.25 million birds that come to nest here. You can photograph some rare species at the Cousin natural reserve. Bird Island is another great spot for bird watching - millions of sooty terns migrate here to breed between May and October. You can also check out Aride to see colonies of seabirds that come here from October to April.
